Youngsville Public Library

The Youngsville Public Library was formed in 1935 for the purpose of operating a free public library for the citizens of Youngsville Borough and the adjacent townships. The library provides these services at 100 Broad Street.

In 2001, the Library held a successful fund campaign which allowed us to begin construction on a much-needed new building. Construction began in October of 2001 and was finished in early March 2002. Through the hard work of staff, board members and a crew of volunteers, we were able to move the contents of the old library and opened in our new facility April 1, 2002. Our new building at 100 Broad Street is located directly behind the old Library building. In our new building, we have more than three times as much floor space, room for books for years to come, and a beautiful, up-to-date building wired for high-speed Internet access.

We invite members of the community and vistors to feel free to visit the library and get to know us and the services we offer.

Friends of the Youngsville Public Library

Many of our services are provided by the Friends of the Library. The Friends of the Library meet the third Wednesday of every month at 2:00pm here at the library. Those interested in volunteering should consider attending the Friends meetings which are open to any who wish to attend. The Friends of the Library organize fundraising and outreach at community events like the Christmas Party for children, the very successful Book Sale in September, the Youngsville Corn Festival, and the Summer Story Hour Program in July.

Making a Memorial Donation

The Youngsville Public Library accepts memorial donations and donations in honor of acheivement. Donations can take the form of contributions to our circulation materials and maintenance. In the case of all donations, we send a sympathy card to the family informing them of the donation. Contributions are listed in the Times Observer several times a year, and (when donations are books or audiobooks) a special memorial bookplate is placed in the front of the book. You may either purchase a book specially and bring it to the library or ask us to order a specific book; our staff can use library resources to select a book by subject.

Donations in honor of graduations, retirements, anniversaries, and other life landmarks are often the best gift to give for "some one who has everything."

If you are interested in giving in honor of someone or placing a memorial in the library, please call us at (814) 563-7670 or mail donations to: Youngsville Public Library, 100 Broad Street, Youngsville, PA 16371. Please be sure to specify who you would like us to notify regarding this donation and indicate whether it is a book donation or a General Fund donation.
